know to get ready to hit record.

they're songs are any good.

the guitar to write MUSIC not the other

I have been hanging out at MySpace.com and there are quite a few talented young players cropping up giving us older guys a run for our money. I don't mind - I think it's a good thing and it's because there are people like you who have tried to keep the guitar alive in it's dark periods.

I hope that you'll all continue to tune in, although I know that for my overseas listeners it might not be a suitable time.
To make up for that, I'm looking into recording the shows and making them available on this site as MP3s.
Thanks again to everyone for helping make Fret Net the success it is, and hopefully in our new timeslot we'll only get bigger and better.

Thank you for all your efforts in bringing this very specialized music to the world! Guitar is so incredibly fun and enjoyable to play. But it's programs like yours that bring it to the ears of the world, and that is so very much appreciated. I wish you the very best and continued success with the program.
Keep those notes flying through the airways!

I've been listening to your webcasts a couple of times. I dig the players that stop by and the long interviews in your show. Very cool to really get to know some great players old and new and let them have the time to speak about their art. We want more!

Pete and MaggieDiscovered the station through the Steve Vai website. Everything stopped whilst we listened to the superb interview - when we should have been packing for holiday! Brilliant show; have checked the playlists and will definitely be tuning in again. Why can we only get shows like this over the net? Steve Vai was correct in his comments about the lack of his music on the radio. Keep up the good work. Pete and Maggie. Nottingham, England - Sunday, July 25, 2004 at 07:00:37 (AEST)

Rik WightFretnet is a 'Godsend' for all of us Independent Gun Guitarists from around the globe. It was an honour to be aired in Austrailia on this wonderful PBS station, especially right after Deep Purple, one of Rock's greatest bands. Their Indie programming is a fantastic concept and hopefully many more staions around the world will catch on to this great idea. Thanks Steve for the recognition and hopefully all of your listeners enjoyed THE RIK WIGHT GROUP performance of "Free Form Jam" aired on April 18, 2004. Our CDs are available at Amazon.com, CDBaby.com, TowerRecords.com as well as many other internet stores. Hope that you will all enjoy them, my music is my gift to this Earth and my only footprint in the sand!
Peace & Love,
The Rik Wight Group

Best Wishes to you & the Fret Net team. It's very inspiring to hear many talented musicians from across the world on your show. I too agree that (USA) radio stations need to remember it's about great music and fun. It's a shame that they're all money hungry. Your show rocks!!! Thanks again for playing my song "Beantown". It really means alot to me. If you ever need more free copies of "Flesh Confessions", don't hesitate to ask. Best of luck. Cheers!
Lindenhurst, Illinois United States - Saturday, May 15, 2004 at 03:42:20 (ADST)
Just wanted to thank you for playing some of my tunes on your show. It is inspiring to know that there is a forum to play instrumental music out there. You do a great service to both listener and musician as I can only hope that the American airwaves pick up on people such as yourself. We (USA) need to revitalize our musical priorities.
Again, my sincere THANKS & if there is any way that I could further help in the cause to spread great music, please let me know.
