steve,fantastic show.
i wish you would announce the song and artist BEFORE each song or three so i
know to get ready to hit record.
also just because someone can play
a thousand notes a second doesn't mean
they're songs are any good.
brett garsed's songs are BRILLIANT
absolutely BRILLIANT,and i listen and
jam to FOE, BREATHE,BROTHERS,UNDOING,
everyday. he really is someone who uses
the guitar to write MUSIC not the other
way round.here are my amp settings

smooth sound on both pickups,
particularly using economy picking
and legato primarily.

Steve, I try to catch your show when I can and I appreciate the fact that you have been among those who have helped the guitar become a visible instrument once again. I have been hanging out at MySpace.com and there are quite a few talented young players cropping up giving us older guys a run for our money. I don't mind - I think it's a good thing and it's because there are people like you who have tried to keep the guitar alive in it's dark periods.

Thanks for everything,

Jimmy Caterine

Hi Everyone!

I want to thank all of you for being such devoted fans of the show, and for all your kind words in the guestbook.

Thanks also for all the wonderful e-mails and phone calls I've received since I started doing the show a year and a half ago. Your enthusiastic feedback is what keeps me going.

This weekend is my last graveyard shift show, then on Monday March 7th, I start my new weekly timeslot of Monday evenings 10pm - midnight!

I hope that you'll all continue to tune in, although I know that for my overseas listeners it might not be a suitable time.

To make up for that, I'm looking into recording the shows and making them available on this site as MP3s.

Thanks again to everyone for helping make Fret Net the success it is, and hopefully in our new timeslot we'll only get bigger and better.

Rock on!

Cheers,
Steve

Where at this planet is the art of instrumental or guitar-music best spread in the air? In Australia, of course :-)

Your shows seem to have very nice themes, great range of songs and the best artists, including a lot of new influences to check out... Also a very good change for newcomers to get a change in the spotlight!

Keep up the good work and continue spreading the music to many as possible...

Hey Steve,
Best Wishes to you & the Fret Net team. It's very inspiring to hear many talented musicians from across the world on your show. I too agree that (USA) radio stations need to remember it's about great music and fun. It's a shame that they're all money hungry. Your show rocks!!! Thanks again for playing my song "Beantown". It really means alot to me. If you ever need more free copies of "Flesh Confessions", don't hesitate to ask. Best of luck. Cheers!

Just wanted to thank you for playing some of my tunes on your show. It is inspiring to know that there is a forum to play instrumental music out there. You do a great service to both listener and musician as I can only hope that the American airwaves pick up on people such as yourself. We (USA) need to revitalize our musical priorities.
Again, my sincere THANKS & if there is any way that I could further help in the cause to spread great music, please let me know.
Thanks,
Joe

Hi Steve! Been busy moving my mother-in-law, purchasing a home, teaching guitar lessons, and gigging.
My website will be up by next week.
Looking forward to the summer sun
Thinkin' about the licks I've done
Bendin' sustainin' and picking the run
I'm out to get me some FRET NET FUN!

A big hi to Steve and all the gang at Fret Net. The best guitar show in Australia...the widest variety of players and sounds from the instrument we all love so much. Thanks for doing so much for "Cinema" and being so open to new music. All the best, Dennis N. (the Wah)

Thanks so much for airing my music and that of other independent artists "down under." Every city needs a radio show like yours, meanwhile I'll hip my fans to your webcast.
