Mattias IA Eklundh - Guitarists 4 the Kids
Mattias is one of the most innovative guitarists around. His contribution to the Guitarists 4 the Kids CD, Zoo Me is a previously unreleased track.
Guitar Garden - Secret Space
This CD just arrived in the Fret Net mail box yesterday, from Pete Prown, who plays guitars, synths, keys and mandolin.
He describes it as a melding of progressive and fusion guitar, laid over rock, latin and downtempo beats. I've only had a chance to listen to it through once, and I really like it. I'll report more after a couple of listens. Here's Evolution X for your listening pleasure.
Guitarists 4 the Kids - Guitarists 4 the Kids
Here's an interesting one. Guitarists 4 the Kids is an album produced by Steve Lang, with net proceeds from sales going to World Vision. He also wrote the title track, which boasts guitar solos from eight guest guitarists!
They are:
- Tommy Merry
- Joy Basu
- Dave Martone
- Dan Palladino
- Michael Vick
- Mattias IA Eklundh
- Terry Lauderdale
- Bumblefoot
Rogério Maudonnet - Rogério Maudonnet
Here's another track, Delirium, from Rogério's lovely self-titled CD.
Plankton - Plankton 3
Plankton's third CD doesn't disappoint fans of this twin-lead guitar retro rock band. Here's Sea of Tranquility.
The Derek Trucks Band - Songlines
Hailed as one of the best of the new young players, Derek Trucks doesn't stick to his trademark blues/slide on this 700-year-old Pakistani composition, Sahib Teri Bandi / Maki Madni. I'll play more off this CD in the coming weeks to give you more of an idea of the depth of this CD.
David Wright - Dajinosaurus
A bit more jazzy than the other track I played off this CD a couple of weeks back. Hope you enjoy Time Constraint.
Sam Yelda - My Revelation
Here's one for the neo-classical fans. It's a little dark. Hope you like Sarcophagus II.
Neil Zaza - Guitarists 4 the Kids
Neil's contribution to the Guitarists 4 the Kids project is Fargo from his CD Staring at the Sun.
