Jeff Beck - Truth
From the Jeff Beck group's first album, here's I Ain't Superstitious.
Cloux - Full Fool
Don't know much about this guy, 'cept he's French and his songs are a little quirky.
Hope you enjoy the title track, Full Fool.
Doppler, Inc. - Nu Instrumental
Featuring Doug Doppler on guitar, with Billy Sheehan on bass and Brad Gillis playing the second guitar solo, here's Bring It On.
Jimi Hendrix - Live At Woodstock
Can't say anything about this that you don't already know. Voodoo Child (Slight Return).
Joel Hoekstra - The Moon is Falling
One of my favourite new players. This song, The Great Og, is very cool.
Led Zeppelin - BBC Sessions
You may not have heard The Girl I Love She Got Long Black Wavy Hair before.
Tony MacAlpine - Chromaticity
Tony's one of my favourite players. Here's Digitalis Destructi.
Tony MacAlpine - Violent Machine
Oh, and he's coming out here in a couple of months! Violent Machine, the title track, is a good one.
John Mayall with Eric Clapton - Bluesbreakers
The classic album that introduced the distrorted overdriven Marshall tone. Here's Have You Heard.
Allen ROBOT Van Wert - Robot
This is amazing. The guy makes video game sounds with his guitar. Not just a gimmick either, although Turbo and Ozone is essentially a showcase for the technique.
James Ryan - Blown
Great stuff by a local guitarist! Seriously! You gotta hear this CD. I'll play Nutts this week and something else next week.
Carlos Santana / John McLaughlin - Love Devotion Surrender
Released to a mixed response back in 1973 (I think), this tribute to John Coltrane by two great guitar players is more relevant today than it ever was as it documents a type of music that is now, sadly, a lost art form. Either that or it's pretentious twaddle, much like the previous sentence. You decide. Here's The Life Divine.
Satriani / Vai / Malmsteen - G3 Live: Rockin' in the Free World
Let's see what these three guys can do with this great Jimi tune. The shredders play Voodoo Child (Slight Return).
Ken Snyder - Nevermore
I've been enjoying this new album from Ken. Hope you like Inner Reflections.
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Live at Montreaux
Stevie's monumental version of this classic Jimi song, Voodoo Child (Slight Return).
Yardbirds - Birdland
This CD features the reformed Yardbirds playing a bunch of their old tunes. This track, My Blind Life, has Jeff Beck playing on it.
Neil Zaza - Melodica
This CD is fast becoming one of my favourites. He's the tastiest player I've heard in ages, yet he can shred when he needs to. Here's Forgot to Make Her Mine.
