Sunday 30th May 2004 2:00am - 6:00am

This is going to be an awesome show! Every track I'll be playing is the best thing you'll ever hear! Make sure you tune in for the whole show. Man, I wish someone else did this show so I could just chill out and listen to it.... :)

Check back here over the next few days for updates. I'll keep adding to this list till right before the show.

Sam Aliano - emalgamation
What's this Australian drummer doing on a guitar show? Kicking arse, that's what! Oh, and featuring some great guitar talent, too. This one, Orgasmic Eggs, has Brett Garsed on guitar.

Mark Banning - Fret Net Fun
Mark wrote this tune especially for me and the Fret Net listeners! Way to go Mark! I'll be playing Fret Net Fun as my intro.

Joy Basu - The Alchemists
This is a double CD compilation from Liquid Note Records, featuring 27 tracks by different guitarists. If you like my show, you'll love this CD. I've selected a few tracks from it to give you an idea. Here's Phase 4 by Joy Basu.

Jeff Beck - Jeff
My favourite CD of last year. Here's So What.

Bryan Beller - View
This is what I wrote a couple of months ago, and it's still true:

Every now and again, an album arrives that holds you in its grasp and shakes the complacency and jadedness right out of you. This is one such album.

Bassist Bryan Beller, along with some remarkable guest musicians, delivers an immensely satisfying CD.

Here's See You Next Tuesday.

Charles Brown - Thru the Flames
It's a majestic CD, with some incredible guitar playing. Here's Radiation Zone.

Bumblefoot - Forgotten Anthology
I love this song; it's so funny! But don't let that fool you. Ron's an incredible player. Here's Bagged a Big 1.

Mike Campese - Vibe
Mike's an awesome player, and a great guy too! How do I know this? He sends me nice e-mails, that's how. I'm going to play the title track, Vibe.

Confusion - Enter Alone
Great fusion-ish band from Greece. Yep, we feature music from all over the world. Hope you enjoy the quaint Pico 'N' Hoover.

Rusty Cooley - Rusty Cooley
You thought you could play guitar? No doubt you can. So can this guy. Here's E.B.E.. Oh, this is good.

Curtis - Room 137
A Fret Net fave, this album has something for everyone. Great playing and a huge variety of styles make this album one of the most interesting and pleasurable to listen to. Danger Girl 2001 is as good a track as any of the others; they're all worthy.

Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius - Live Wires
I just got this CD, and I have to say it's amazing! Joe plays electric violin. He's got a fretted one! Playing guitar on this cover of Frank Zappa's Magic Fingers is Jake Ezra.

Double Heart Project - Human Nature's Fight
With Chris Poland as a guest on Echoes From Asia, how can you go wrong?

Electrocution 250 - Electric Cartoon Music From Hell
Look, just buy it, OK? It's got everything... funny cartoon motifs and awesome guitar, keys, drums... It's available from Liquid Note Records. Ridiculosous is fun, as is the rest of the CD.

Laurent Fleury - Contrastes
Awesome French player, great CD. Le Mort Joyeux is tres bon.

Ryan Formato - Out Of This World
A 19-year-old shred wiz. Here's Shred Dominates. Can't wait to hear from him as he matures.

Marty Friedman - Music For Speeding
Ex-Megadeth player, now doing crazy J-pop stuff, Marty is a scarily talented guitarist.

This CD is a solo effort from a year or two ago. You'd call it progressive instrumental rock, I suppose. Wait, haven't I said that before? This track is called Gimme a Dose.

Brett Garsed - Big Sky
Brett is one of Australia's greatest guitarists, with solo material in more of a fusion vein to his stints with John Farnham and others. He's going to be supporting Steve Vai in three cities in July. Get along and see this great player. Here's Fu'd Fight from his solo CD. Also, check out the Sam Aliano and Richard Hallebeek tunes I'm playing this show, both featuring Brett on guitar.

Richard Hallebeek Project - RHP
Another great release from Liquid Note Records. You'd think that Richard's guitar playing would be enough to satisfy anyone, but like six free steak knives, there's more! Guest guitarists include the late great Shawn Lane and Brett Garsed. This track, Good Food, features Brett on the 3rd solo.

Joel Hoekstra - The Moon Is Falling
Joel is one of the few that are taking the guitar to new heights. Just when you think it's all about shredders playing arpeggios faster than you can fall asleep, someone like Joel comes along with something unique and you just have to thank him for waking you up. The Great Og is one of my favourites from this CD, but the're all great.

The Howland / Imboden Project - Live at the Baked Potato
A collaboration between guitarist Keith Howland and drummer Tris Imboden (both members of the band Chicago). I played the studio version of this track, Your Old Thingy, last time. Here's the live version.

HLMP - Live at the Baked Potato
This band features two guitarists from the band Chicago; Keith Howland is their current guitarist and Chris Pinnick filled the role in the early 1980s. Here's a live version of Bowl of Surprises.

John Inman - skiesWIDEopen
This is a great CD, that I seem to have neglected. John's an emormously talented player. I'm sure you'll like Acrobat.

Joboj - The Alchemists
This is a double CD compilation from Liquid Note Records, featuring 27 tracks by different guitarists. If you like my show, you'll love this CD. I've selected a few tracks from it to give you an idea. Here's Screaming Chicken by Joboj.

Julien Kasper - Flipping Time
An understated CD, by which I mean it's not as Ridiculously Over The Top™ as most of the others I play. Still great, though. Check out Jackalope.

Vitalij Kuprij - Forward and Beyond
Vitalij is a keyboard player. What's he doing here? Well, he's assembled a bunch of incredible guitarists to help him out on this CD. This track, Message of Hope, features Roger Staffelbach, Borislav Mitic and Francesco Fareri.

Pete Laramee - Alone But Not Lonely
Chops galore and a good sense of fun. I've played Charlie Brown Wins The Lottery before, and it's such a good tune we gotta have it again.

Travis Larson Band - Suspension
Incredible playing from this technically brilliant 3-piece. I've played a fair bit of their stuff before and you and I have both enjoyed it. Squeeze and Shake is a fun one.

Bill Lonero - Slather
Keep an eye out for this fantastic player. This CD is a Fret Net favourite. Hmmm, maybe one day I'll play one of the acoustic numbers, but in the meantime, here's Mr. Grinch.

Joe LoSchiavo - Electric Circus
It's perhaps not quite as intense as some of the CDs I play, but the playing is still fantastic. Here's Nite Rider, and it's a great track.

Tony MacAlpine - Chromaticity
Tony will be here in July as part of Steve Vai's band. He is an incredible guitar and keyboard player in his own right; second-to-none, really. What a privilege, to see him and Steve Vai together! Here's Digitalis Destructi from one of his solo CDs.

Paul Nelson - Look
Full Blast is the pick of the bunch, but they're all good. Paul has recently recorded and toured the USA with Johnny Winter.

Byron Nemeth - 100 Worlds
Newish release from this very talented player. This one's called Power To Destroy.

Marc Pattison - The Alchemists
This is a double CD compilation from Liquid Note Records, featuring 27 tracks by different guitarists. If you like my show, you'll love this CD. I've selected a few tracks from it to give you an idea. Here's Crash & Burn by Marc Pattison.

Plankton - Humble Colossus
Plankton are the Swedish psychadelic twin-guitar hippy melodic instrumental '70s rock band of the new millenium! Here's Bulleribock from their new album.

Greg Rapaport - Azrael Block
This is one of my favourite recent CDs. Greg's playing is incredible, but more than that, his compositions are intricately impressive. Tech Support is fun, too!

Rullian - Is This My Guitar or an Albatross?
One of my favourite albums from last year; featuring the talented and handsome Raoul Rañoa. Here's Eastbound by Midnight.

Billy Sheehan - Compression
Billy will be playing bass in Steve Vai's band, touring here in July. It's going to be a great band! This track, Chameleon, features Steve Vai on guitar.

Jason Stolarik - Flesh Confessions
I've really been enjoying this CD more and more every time I listen to it. It's one of those albums that you keep discovering things about. Here's Cerebral Fix.

Steve Vai - Mystery Tracks Archives Vol. 3
Well, what can I say? Mr. Vai is generally regarded as being one of the best. He's going to be here in July. See for yourself. I'm going to play the long version of this track, Opposites Attract Part 2 (The Indulgent Version).

Michael Vick - H.-E. Guitar Masterworks Vol. 1
He plays fretted and fretless guitars, and sometimes his music takes a little getting used to. He's been called the Frank Zappa of fretless guitar. Here's an accessible track, Mirrored w/ Red Linen. If you like it, I'll play some of his more adventurous stuff next time. I hope you like it!

The Rex Wailer Set - Temporary Joke
Featuring local musician Ren Walters, this is a curious CD. I like it. It's different. Noice, un-ewe-sual. (Non-Australians won't get the Kath & Kim reference.) Here's Cut and Dry.

The Yardbirds - Birdland
This is the recent release by the newly reformed Yardbirds. I'll play a couple of tracks if I've got time: For Your Love and Mystery of Being, both going out to Charlie.

Zeroesque - Zeroesque
It might be last in this alphabetical list, but only because it's an ascending sort. Hope you enjoy Space Race.
