Sunday 16th November 2003 2:00am - 6:00am

Check back here over the next few days to see what we'll be playing.

New(ish) releases we'll be playing

Jeff Beck - Jeff
I've been playing tracks off Jeff's latest CD for a few weeks now, and I don't see any reason to stop now. Do you?

Blackmore's Night - Ghost of a Rose
Ex-Deep Purple and ex-Rainbow guitar god Ritchie Blackmore doin' the medieval thang. Not sure what to play yet, maybe I'll just pick one at random. Do you prefer just an instrumenatl or one with vocals? It's not Ritchie singing, by the way, it's Candice Night.

Deep Purple - Bananas
Steve Morse, master guitar-slinger, with a new release from this classic rock band. I'll probably play Doing It Tonight and Contact Lost.

Marty Friedman - music for speeding
Amazing guitar work on this, the latest solo CD from the ex-Megadeth guitar god. I'll play it's the unreal thing and maybe another one, time permitting.

Steve Hackett - To Watch The Storms
Amazingly talented and versatile guitar player / multi-instrumentalist / vocalist. Ex-Genesis. I think I'll play Brand New. You really owe it to yoursef to hear this!

Steve Howe's Remedy - Elements
Latest kinda-solo release by Yes's guitarist. I'll play Rising Sun and maybe Pacific Haze if I have time.

Iron Maiden - Dance Of Death
These guys have been carrying the NWOBHM torch for decades, and with three guitarists on this new release I just have to play some for you. Not sure which tracks yet, but I'm thinking Montsegur, Paschendale or Dance Of Death.

Living Colour - CollideoScope
Great new release by the relatively recently reformed Living Colour. I'll probably play Back In Black (yes... AC/DC cover!) and Lost Halo and maybe one other if I have time.

Eric Sardinas - Black Pearls
Raw and blue, this is the third release by this dobro-wielding Delta bluesman. I'll play Liar's Dice Blues. Kind of a nod to Johnny Winter.

Steve Vai - The Elusive Light And Sound Vol. I
A collection of tracks Steve performed for films. I think this is the first time the Crossroads head-cutting duel has appeared on CD; at least it's not on my Crossroads CD or on any of my other Steve Vai CDs.
So I'll probably play the Head-Cutting Duel for you and maybe one or two other tracks, time permitting.

Steve Vai - Various Artists: Archives Vol. 4
A bunch of tracks Steve recorded for or with other artists. I'll play something from here but I don't know what yet.

Zakk Wylde - The Blessed Hellride
A guitarist that is probably most well-known for playing with Ozzie. I'll play the title track from this latest relase.

Yardbirds - Birdland
They're back! And on this new CD they have some guest guitarists: Jeff Beck, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Slash, Skunk Baxter, John Rzeznik, Brian May, Steve Lukather... Man... What should I play????

Local bands we'll be playing

Jimi Hocking
Yep we'll be playing more local artists. Check back soon to see what tracks of Jimi's we'll be featuring.
